BigBang Workshop 2009
On October 20th the Big Bang , an event on ‘sustainable design and innovation with polymers’, inspired 95 designers and industry leaders. This new and extended edition of the previous Big Bang was one of our activities that we organised during the Dutch Design Week 2009.
The event was initiated by We Are Perspective and Pezy Product Innovation and co-organized together with DPI Value Centre, Dusc, and the ICSE. The morning program offered informative lectures, followed by a lively panel discussion. In the afternoon, the workshop program challenged participants to match “sustainable materials” with “recognized added value” for the user. This resulted in innovative and sustainable product ideas. Altogether, a day filled with new insights, interesting meetings, fresh ideas, and a tangible drive to do good things.
The first edition of the BigBang workshop was part of the “Amsterdam Duurzaam” week and took place in June 2009 in the Pakhuis de Zwijger. The event was organized together with the Dutch designers foundation BNO and DINSDAG network. The events attracted a large audience and were widely covered in the press. Guest speakers at the events included sustainability frontrunners from Océ Copiers, Gulpener Bier, Wageningen and TU Delft University. Participants that joined the program represented leading thinkers and doers from organizations like Philips and HEMA.
