Mobile External Hard Disk

Our client developed a high security system for encrypting data on external portable hard disks and was looking an enclosure design that exudes a sense of the high security to the user. We designed the enclosure to make use of a capacitive touchscreen technology to activate the numeric pin pad. The pin pad only lights up when the secure smart card is inserted, and users key in their PIN via the touchscreen. This project won a Singapore Design Award Merit Prize in 2009 and a CES Design and Engineering Showcase Honors in 2010.
