The start of the Covid pandemic was marked by uncertainty and fear about how it spread and its effects. There was an urgent need for innovative solutions on the ground to protect our ‘frontline’ healthcare workers.
We Are Perspective was approached to design a full face mask, inspired by full face snorkel masks which completely shield one’s face. It was designed to accommodate a diverse range of users, from different facial features to users wearing spectacles, yet still comfortable to be worn for long durations.
It features a HEPA filter, motor fan for ventilation as well as the option of attaching a microphone for improved communication.
In record time, the team created multiple iterations and prototypes, before proceeding to small batch production. Although not reaching full deployment, his was an especially meaningful project, being able to see our efforts protect ‘frontline’ healthcare workers during the pandemic.
