Train station platform screen door & door access device

Platform Screen Doors (PSD) serve to enhance commuter safety on our train platforms, preventing unnecessary access or accidental incursions onto the track. These doors are synchronised with the train’s signaling system, opening when it comes to a stop with lights indicating when doors are open or about to close.  

Designing for the new Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL), a sleek design was needed to complement the architecture across its many stations. Our design for the Door Operation Indicators lights features an extruded design, allowing for a 180 degree view. 

Additionally, the top ‘Header Region’, displays train line and station information to commuters. We explored different profiles to enhance readability, yet portraying a clean, modern look for the TEL.
