" PETER ROBOT "

In June 2019, Certis, an auxiliary police company, introduced an autonomous robot at Jewel Changi Airport to manage traffic flow. This robot patrols the entrance, displaying messages such as “No waiting” and “No parking” to deter unauthorized vehicle stops. If a driver does not comply, the robot alerts that a Certis officer is en route and records the incident with photos and videos.

This initiative is part of Certis’s efforts to enhance security operations through advanced technology, aiming to ensure smooth traffic flow and improve the experience for passengers and visitors. Changi Airport has a history of integrating robotics into its services, including deploying cleaning robots in 2017 for tasks like mopping and picking up small items.

As developers in the robotics field, we recognize the significance of such implementations in real-world environments. The deployment of autonomous robots for traffic enforcement at a major international airport like Changi demonstrates the practical applications of robotics in enhancing operational efficiency and security. It also highlights the growing acceptance and integration of robotic solutions in public spaces, paving the way for further innovations in the industry.
